Pink Cosmetics

My skin has always been a bit of trouble – from external factors such as my medication (including prednisone which is truly the devil’s drug thanks to all the side effects); & moving provinces 2 years ago.  I have acne scarring from my teenage years thanks to all the hormones, & I have really battled with dry skin this past winter.  I came across Pink Cosmetics whilst looking through Instagram & truly fell in love with the whole vibe that came across through their images.  Plus pink is my favourite colour (in case you haven’t been able to tell through my previous posts!) so I felt I really had to try these out for myself.

I applied to become an influencer for them after reading through their Facebook page & website & seeing what others had to say.  I also loved the fact that they are all natural & botanical, so my skin would not have to cope with more chemicals & nonsense.

I was sent 3 different products to try out for myself – Solid Brush & Sponge Cleaner; Facial Mist & Micellar Water.

Solid Brush & Sponge Cleaner (Unicorn Dream) – R150.Pink_Cosmetics_July41sml_1024x1024

Keep your precious makeup brushes in tip top condition with our solid brush and sponge cleaner. It easily removes dirt and grime while conserving water and your valuable products.

Not only are these super effective in keeping your makeup brushes clean and germ-free but they are also great for travelling and are oh so easy to use. Each compact cleaner contains soothing cocoa butter and olive oil to condition and easily break down excess residue and germs.

These beauties have been handcrafted and individually poured by a makeup enthusiast with a passion for quality products, offering real value and superior results. This here is the ultimate cleaner for makeup artists and travellers alike.

How does it work?  Simply wet your brush or sponge with clean water. Next, wet the top of your cleaner in its container, and swirl the wet brush around on it to activate the cleaning ingredients. Remember, the dirtier your brush, the less it lathers. Rinse and repeat until your brush or sponge is perfectly clean and germ-free. Don’t waste those fabulous bubbles! Make perfect use of them by cleaning your next brush.

For liquid foundation removal, use a brush egg to help remove stubborn stains. When done, rinse the soap under water and leave to dry upside down. We recommend that make up artists spray your brushes with alcohol once they are dried to ensure a 100% sterile finish.

Lightly scented in our Unicorn dreams fragrance, and topped with a unicorn. Individually handcrafted and free from sulphates, parabens, phthalates, petroleum products and other skin irritants, and can be used daily without harming your brushes.

When this arrived, I was super excited.  Although I studied to be a make-up artist & have my international qualifications, I truly hate the mission of washing my brushes & finding a product that actually cleans them whilst still leaving them soft & smelling good.  I have tried all sorts of beauty hacks, & none have seemed to truly work.  So I was very interested to see how this would work out!

I have white make-up brushes (I know, it is just silly), so felt like I was truly putting this balm to the test.  It was very quick & easy to clean my brushes, & all the make-up came off very easily so my brushes were actually white again!  The beautiful scent of this product is also very appealing – even my husband commented on the smell when he walked into the bathroom where my brushes were drying.  This is a product I would recommend for everyone who uses make-up brushes & sponges!

A facial mist has always peaked my interest – is it something we should really own?  Would it really make that much of a difference?  Is it just something that the beauty industry was pushing on to us as another money-making scheme?

I have been using it after cleansing & before using my moisturiser – simply spraying it on to my face makes it very easy to use, & I always get comments from people that I hug hello that my skin smells so beautiful.  I took it to work with me the one day so the ladies in the office could try it for themselves, & they all loved it & how it just seemed to ‘wake up’ their skin as they sprayed it on.  My husband (who never uses the facial products I get for him – it drives me mad) has also said that he truly likes the Facial Mist & I have found him spritzing it on before he leaves for work in the morning!  My skin is definitely softer & no longer feels as tight as it was before.  So this isn’t just one of those products that people recommend for no reason at all.

Micellar Water – R145micellar_1024x1024

For a gentle cleanse that is sure to leave your skin feeling energised and radiant, Micellar Water is the ideal product suitable for all skin types. It works to effectively cleanse the skin from all impurities such as oils, sebum or makeup, leaving your face feeling refreshed and hydrated. Our micellar water contains Willow bark extract which is a natural salicate and thus has many similar properties to Salycylic acid, like reducing inflammation and associated redness and having antimicrobial effect.

Micellar water is a phenomenal multifunctional product that can be used as an effective cleanser, toner, make-up remover and more! It is 100% vegan and safe to use, containing no alcohol, parabens or sulphates. You can apply this in the morning or evening, 7-days per week!

How to use:  Soak a cotton pad with Micellar water and apply to your face as a cleanser or use to remove makeup from your eyes and face. You can reapply until the cotton pad is clean and your face feels cleansed. There is no need to rinse your face after application, but you can lightly dab your skin with a soft cotton cloth to dry.

Restore your face’s natural radiance with this versatile product and rest assured that only the best and safest ingredients have been used, inspired by nature to give you a healthier, glowing appearance.

I have been using the Micellar Water in the evenings to remove my make-up & cleanse my skin before bedtime.  Again, the smell is absolutely beautiful & it has really made the world of difference to my skin.  It leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished & not tight (like many cleansers do).  It has also helped diminish the scarring from my acne & I have even noticed that the dark rings under my eyes have improved.  Once I apply my night cream, I feel that this is definitely soaking in & not just rubbing off on my pillow as it did before.

All in all, I have fallen in love with Pink Cosmetics!  I am always honest about what I am trying out, & these have blown me away.  I will be buying more for myself in the future, & have even bought some for friends for their skincare concerns.

If you would like to try these out for yourself, you can use the code FLOWERCROWNS to get a 10% discount, & these will be delivered within a week.

Janet, thank you for all your hard work in creating these products & for making them all by hand to ensure that we are getting the best quality products possible.  You are amazing!!
